At St. Fidelis’ we believe the education of the whole child
cannot occur without the support of parents and their involvement in their
children’s education. We promote and maintain effective interactions between
students, parents, parish and the wider community. We recognise, celebrate and
value the interaction of these groups within our school community and embrace
the individual expertise and talents of each group.
The active groups within our community are:
- Parents and friends Association are volunteers who work
together to improve the amenities for the school children through fundraising
activities throughout the year. The P&F provide opportunities for social
events that can be enjoyed by school families, parish families and staff thus
fostering inks within our community.
- School Board/ Parish Education Board is made up of the
Parish Priest, School Principal, teacher representative, elected school parents
and elected members of the parish community.
The board comes together to provide support in realising the vision of
St Fidelis` school
- Classroom helpers are volunteer family members who are able to dedicated time
to work within the classrooms in assisting the learning of our students.
Classroom helpers are invited to complete a course at the beginning of the
school year prior to assisting in classrooms.
There are many other ways that parental involvement is
encouraged: attending excursions, attending incursions, sharing your talents
and expertise, laminating books, helping in the library etc.
Please note that a requirement of all classroom helpers and
volunteers is that they have a current working with children's check.
